On Wednesday, Modelresource revealed the list of featured photographers at the upcoming Women X Women event.
Today I get to share new work from one of the photographers I discovered at last year's inaugural WXW.
Karen Roze (www.karenroze.com) is now one of my favourite young photographers, irrespective of gender.
Pictured below is her recent work in Schön!, featuring Sutherland's Charlotte Agnew.

Gabi by Anouk Lessard
A couple months ago I got an email from The Advocates seeking suggestions for this year's Women X Women event. Last year's WXW was one of my enduring highlights of LG Fashion Week, so frankly I was honoured to contribute to this year's list of talented female photographers.
Now, if you know Gian, you know he's a dude. But what you might not know, is Gian's favourite photographers are women.
He and I came up with a list of some of our favourites (ones that were not featured last year), and three of them (Anouk Lessard, Malina Corpadean and Lindsey Drennan) are now confirmed to be among the twelve artists featured at this season's exhibition.
With eight returning artists from last year I'm sure this season's - which will be open to the public on Friday, April 2nd - will be no less memorable.

Modelresource once again has your first look at the new issue of Spade.
In an economy that has seriously hobbled the publishing industry, it's encouraging to see a quality Canadian publication that has not only survived, but grown from rather humble Ottawa roots to become the nationally distributed quarterly it is now.
Issue #8 features Alex Loomans on the cover, as well as Ty States' first editorial, both photographed by Saad Al-Hakkak (www.saadvision.com).

NEW FACE ALERT
A.I.M. in Kelowna tipped us off to this new face, who recently signed in New York.
Sonja is a 5'9" 15-year-old who caught the attention of Wilhelmina at November's Faces West Convention in Vancouver.
The emails between A.I.M. director Lori Allan and Wilhelmina's Roman Young have been going back-and-forth ever since, and it is now decided the honours student will spend her March Break (March 12 - 19) in New York, testing and meeting clients.

We're just weeks into 2010 and already Kristy McQuade has modelled in three markets.
The 5'11" LizBell model started the season working for Press in Vancouver, before jetting off to the Bahamas for a bathing suit editorial, then heading to London where she works through Storm.
These are new images from Merry Ole England, shot by Andrea Carter Bowman.
Watch for the 5'10½" Next brunette in the upcoming issue of Z!NK Canada, photographed by Richard Bernardin (www.richardbernardin.com).

The mens shows alone would cause a lot of buzz on the Mode Models blog this week, but editorials and campaign have also snuck their way in.
Simon Nessman and Taylor Fuchs have, not surprisingly, been among the busier guys on the runways of Milan.
At the same time Heather Marks made an appearance in Spanish Vogue, while Julia Dunstall's latest Coccinelle campaign was also released (as we reported in September, she did their last campaign too).
To cap off the big week, Mode's new face Nicole Tusznio also made a Monday appearance on Models.com's Daily Duo.

CoverModels' Cassandra Tighe (VonZipper campaign)
With the recent closure of Giovanni's Toronto office, several models and mother agents have been actively seeking out new options in Canada's largest market. Others are holding out for what is rumoured to be a new venture headed up by the two staff that remained at the Wellington Street office until the end.
Ottawa's CoverModels - which saw incredible results after placing Laura Kell with Next in 2009 (check out her "Best Modelling Moment") - was quick to move the three models released by the sudden change in the agency landscape.
Former featured model Cassandra Tighe, who has built an impressive international career, is the best known of the three.
But the other two converts are faces also familiar to Modelresource readers, having been recently noted for their own international successes.
Andrea Brouwer we most recently told you about two weeks ago when we showed off her Escada tearsheets from Korea.
Travelling with Brouwer is Anjela Chamberlain who - as we told you at the end of December - is building up the editorial.
Pictured below are images from the latest campaign for 16-year-old Brouwer, who returns to Canada in less than a week.

The new issue of Filler Magazine is now online, and decidedly slanted towards the men this time. Mackenzie Duncan and Stuart A. McIntyre co-direct a very cool video sequence called "Cazar" (Spanish: "to hunt"), featuring NAM's John Cherkas and Michael Solomon.
Speaking of dudes, the men's shows are now underway in Milan, which means several of Elmer Olsen's guys are going to be busy. Pictured here are Casey Taylor in Vivienne Westwood, and Alex Loomans in Roberto Cavalli.
Two other Canadian guys to keep your eye on:
I Model Mgmt's Eric Bell, who is creating quite a bit of buzz right now.
CoverModels' Matt G, currently on display in VMan.

A little more than a month ago, Modelresource told you about a British Elle feature on ten new faces from three different New York agencies; three of which were Canadian.
