MTSC was kind enough to let Modelresource attend, and network with the many scouts in attendance from around the globe.
We watched the swimsuit competition and took some notes that will hopefully help future competitors make the most of their chance to be discovered.

Sutherland's new star, Jae
While Modelresource gets together the final pieces of our profile on Sutherland Models, we thought we would share a little bit about Jae.
The 17-year-old Aries is only weeks into her career and has already garnered interest in Paris, London, Milan, New York and Japan.
Modelresource learned yesterday that Sutherland agent Brandon Hall will be flying with Jae to New York next Friday to select her rep in that city.
5'11" Jae is an honours student, a multi-sport athlete, and is involved with the renowned Shakespeare festival in her hometown of Stratford, Ontario.

Marla Boehr
Modelresource bumped into Marla Boehr, walking along Queen Street this evening.
The Lethbridge lovely says she's in town to shoot for Elle, and do a Holt Renfrew campaign.

Modelresource was a fly-on-the-wall Tuesday, as three of Chantale Nadeau's new faces fine-tuned their runway skills.
The trio was trained by Idanna Auger, who in addition to her catwalk prowess also represents a handful of models and scouts for Metropolitan in Paris.
By the end of the two hour session, I felt ready to walk for Christian LaCroix, despite the fact most of the training was delivered en français.
You may recognize Myo from the pictures. In the few weeks she has been in Toronto (where she is signed to Sutherland Models), she quickly built a strong starter portfolio which includes a spread in Wedding Bells magazine.
Myo leaves for Paris in a few days where she was recently signed by Women Management.

The new format makes it easier to get to the most viewed pages, and makes for a cleaner viewing experience for those on most wireless devices.

Heather Marks and Lisa Cant
Modelresource is spending the long weekend preparing for its month-end move into the heart of Toronto's Fashion District.
While rifling through some old files, we came across this, our favourite photo (taken from Flare's 25th anniversary issue, last fall) of Heather Marks and Lisa Cant.
It's only fitting we post it since the two models were getting their start in Calgary around the same time Modelresource got its start in the same city.

Jessica Stam in New York February 2005
For months, Modelresource has tried to get an interview with Jessica Stam.
We've been backstage together at the Cynthia Steffe show in New York, and briefly crossed paths in Barrie, Ontario.
On both occassions however, our schedules didn't mesh and my hopes for an interview went unfulfilled.
The Montréal model with Next in Canada, but Elite in New York, recently caught the interest of models.com's Of the Minute section by booking Victoria's Secret, and the lead story in June edition of American Elle.
In the past couple of weeks, Next newcomer Sarah and Mode's rising star Julia Dunstall have also been featured on Of The Minute.
The Lethbridge, Alberta model just landed a major Lancome campaign, to be shot in the coming days.
Marla, you will remember, made waves in March when Prada / Miu Miu booked the 21-year-old for an exclusive appearance in Milan.

Corey Mann, for those in need of a refresher, left Giovanni Models five years ago to help establish Next Models in Toronto. Before that he was the Managing Director of Mannequin, also in Toronto.
Two months ago Corey relocated to Vancouver to scout the gold mine of talent known as Western Canada.
Modelresource got a message from Mr. Mann yesterday to let us know the move has been a positive one. Not only did Corey miss what has been a miserable spring in Southern Ontario, he is also finding strong new talent for Next.
He promised us an update soon. We'll be sure to share it when it arrives.

Sarah, Next Models
Modelresource is looking forward to May, starting with our feature interview with Andi Muise, which will be followed in the coming days with Michelle Valencourt's story.
We also welcome our newest contributor, Toronto make-up artist Naaema Rehmani, who is writing a piece on hair for models.
May also brings the launch of a new feature, in which clients share what they look for in models. Our first installment comes from photo phenom Geoff Barrenger.
In other news...
Two weeks ago, Lorraine Hartnett at Next Models shared her adorable new face, Sarah, with Modelresource and we scrambled to get her face posted. The 18-year-old is now turning heads at models.com as well, where she was just added to their "Of The Minute" section. Keep going, Sarah.
Daria Werbowy continues her to prove she's more than the reigning queen of the catwalk, by adding to her impressive list of advertising campaigns. The Mississauga model was just selected as the international face of Lancome's new fragrance for women, due out later this year in Europe.
