Modelresource got its copy of the Sutherland show package the other day (we'll start posting next week), and once again this season it looks fantastic.
Surprisingly absent however, was goreous new face Malaika.
As it turns out the Swedish import is back in Europe right now, after a very successful summer which saw her shoot for Glow, Wish and Flare.
Sutherland did share with us that Kai has been their most requested girl for the Toronto shows so far.
Modelresource's pick for Top Newcomer last fashion week (I quite proudly lay claim to being the first person to book her) is expected to be a very busy model this season.

Two of Folio's rising stars are about to take flight once again.

Billie-Jazz is heading east meanwhile, to Paris and Milan, with the latest cover of Kill prominent in her portfolio.

Giovanni's Magalie Daignault photo: Mario Miotti
If you haven't been following the shows this season, you're missing the rapid ascent of Montréal's Magalie Daignault
The Chantale Nadeau model got her heels warmed up in New York, but started them smoking in London where she walked a bunch of shows including the very high profile Mulberry collection, and the Aminaka Wilmont show that closed London's season.
While in English capital, her latest editorial appeared in London's Chic Today magazine (photographed by Mackenzie Duncan), and she was featured on TheOnes2Watch.
Around the same time stunning new images appeared on moo's and Owen Bruce's websites.
Daignault is currently in Paris, where she is expected to make a very strong impression at next weeks shows, before returning to Canada where Giovanni already is holding several options on her in Montréal and Toronto.

Chantale Nadeau's Melina Querel
One of the hottest models in the country right now is undoubtedly Melina Querel.
Since signing with Ford in New York back in May, the 5'10" brunette has been everywhere.
The image on the right is from the current French language issue of Lou Lou (of course she appears on the English one as well).
Below are photos of the Chantale Nadeau model (with Ford in Toronto) in the Fall issue of Z!NK Canada, and backstage at this weekend's DSquared2 show in Toronto.

Folio's Lisa Cant
I mentioned last week that I never get tired of Lisa Cant
The Images model from Alberta is doing the shows in New York this week, while images of another sort are appearing north of the border.
Cant is one of four Folio models featured in the new Z!NK Canada; she also appears on the cover.

Sutherland's Simona McIntyre for Evan Biddell (www.evanbiddell.ca) photo: Maja Hajduk
Casting season is just getting underway, as designers have started calling agencies to see who will be available for October's shows.
During four castings last year I sat through more than 600 runs from models hoping to find coveted slots; the industry has become increasingly competitive and if you don't have the tools you likely aren't going to get booked.
Toronto Fashion Week used to be a place to practice for the bigger runways. Now it's pretty serious business.
Modelresource will start posting show packages soon, but for models – especially new faces - looking to get a head start, I recommend acquainting yourself with the tips we've put together over several seasons of participating in some of Toronto's key castings.
Also, one product of which we're rather fond is ModelCoach's runway training video. You can read our initial review here, then visit the website at www.modelcoach.ca.
The Folio model - as you may know - has been a Modelresource favourite since this site was just a gleam in its publisher's eyes.
This month the Alberta native appears in the new issue of Elle Québec, shot by Malina Corpadean.
I never get tired of looking at that face.

Meet Melissa Ambridge.
It's difficult to believe this girl was without representation until recently.
Since signing with Giovanni in July the 5'9½" brunette with hazel/green eyes and million dollar smile has been working steadily, and receiving enormous interest from agencies that specialize in revenue.

Next's Kim Cloutier in Vogue Australia
I have to admit, when I learned Kim Cloutier was going to be this week's Featured Model, I was a little excited.
I like leaving the feature open to a variety of models in different stages of their career, but having this particular Next model is bound to give the stats a bit of a bump (bonus marks to Modelresource intern Chelsea Coyle for arranging it).
Cloutier recently spent three weeks in sunny Australia for a quick tear-sheet collecting spree that resulted in editorials from Vogue, Cosmopolitan, Grazia and Russh.
The 5'9" Montréal model is now back in NYC, where the work will undoubtedly build.
