About The Site

It was not a coincidence that modelresource.ca was registered on July 1st. This site was designed as a Canadian resource, created at the request of models in need of credible, up-to-date information.

Modelling is a dynamic, complex, confusing industry. Ideally, I want this to be the first place people go when they have questions about modelling.

Since Modelresource went live in 2001, I have received a lot of e-mail on a variety of issues, and as is necessary in this industry, I've learned a lot of new stuff along the way.

Thousands of hours have gone into building this site. Thousands more will go into maintaining and improving it.

If you have ideas would like to see on modelresource.ca, please let me know. I'm always interested in hearing your thoughts.

Dan Grant Dan Grant is Canada's only journalist exclusively focused on this country's dynamic modelling industry.

He has owned and operated agencies in Calgary and Saskatoon, and as a personal manager placed models with agencies in the U.S., Asia, Europe, Australia and, of course, right here in Canada.

Dan has been involved in the casting and production of numerous fashion shows and photo shoots, has been a featured speaker at industry events and has contributed modelling-related articles to magazines and other related online media.

He also published The Canadian Model's Resource - a guidebook to the Canadian modelling industry - in 2006.

Dan currently lives in Toronto with his actor/singer wife, and travels extensively across Canada.

Chelsea Coyle

Chelsea Coyle is a Chantale Nadeau model (placed with Sutherland in Toronto and Folio in Montréal), who has been working with Modelresource since 2007.

In addition to being the creator of our Through the Lens and Artist Moment features, she also administers Modelresource's Facebook Group, and provides advice, support and editing on a regular basis.

A recent high school graduate planning a career in journalism, Chelsea is gaining enormous international interest as a model, and was featured in 2008 on influential modelling website, TheOnes2Watch.com.

Matthew Lyn

Matthew Lyn is a Jamaican-born photographer who has developed his photograpic skills travelling between Toronto, Los Angeles and New York.

Currently based in Montréal, Matthew's relationship with Modelresource began as our runway photographer for consecutive seasons of Toronto Fashion Week, evolving into to the his current position as the point man for our Men's features.

Jadine Cleary

Motivation & High Performance Coach Jadine Cleary is a world renowned synchronized swimming coach, having coached at the Olympic Games and two World Championships. She currently works with national level synchronized swimmers to prepare them physically and mentally for competition.

She also works with models, designing individualized programs to help them reach their physical and mental potential.

Liam Hendrikse is an independent financial advisor, and a model with Sutherland Models. He provides 1st and 2nd opinions on new and existing personal financial plans. He's also a forensic scientist, but that's another story altogether...
